AIDS Walk Kansas City, 2008

This past Saturday, a handful of our staff joined together with thousands of others to enjoy a beautiful day and remember those who have been taken away from this world by AIDS/HIV. Though the temperature was chilly, spirits were high and the energy was palpable.
AHT friends Ron Megee, Missy Koonce and the bar Natasha singers were great entertainment throughout the morning. We had many visitors to the AHT booth where folks were able to enter for a chance to win tickets to Perfect Wedding. Our walking team enjoyed the 3 mile trek through the Plaza area with lots of laughter and checking out the cute houses near the Nelson Atkins.

Our favorite part, though, was when our very own Anthony Edwards presented a check to AIDS Walk Kansas City from our fundraising efforts during I Love You Because. We are very proud to say that, thanks to our cast members and generous audiences, we were able to donate over $7,300 this year! It's exciting to know that our donation will provide Kansas Citians with AIDS education, provide medical care, shelter and emergency assistance to local people living with AIDS/HIV, and provide hospice that creates an environment of dignity and love for its patients.

Thank you so much to each and every patron who took part in our fundraising efforts!
